Research
Beginning in 2018, Grandmothers has stepped up to raise funds to support scholarship to inform public policies. For five years, the Foundation has helped to grow a community of researchers, including graduate students and early career scholars. Evidence is key to ending this public health epidemic.
Education
Scholars, the media, supporters, and the general public are all enriched by the knowledge produced by research into gun violence. The Foundation is committed to consistent educational programs and products that raise the level of awareness and issue fluency among all stakeholders.
Community Engagement
Gun violence affects all communities with a disproportionate impact on communities of color. Grandmothers seeks out community partners to strengthen our impact and fund studies that reflect our commitment to racial justice and that will empower communities that are shaping strategies.
“In terms of research funding, gun violence is one of the most neglected public health crises of our time.”
